The last 2 years revealed the resilience of the BFSI sector as banks and financial services institutions performed much better in weathering the disruption caused by the pandemic compared to other sectors. In Africa however, something else is disrupting the sector. The rise of Fintech, Challenger Banks, Mobile and Digital Payment Startups is changing the dynamics and central banks and traditional banks are under pressure to reposition policies, business strategies and banking models to tap into the mobile money revolution spreading across the continent. With the Nigeria’s central bank launching its e-wallet platform and different banks strengthening their digital banking and mobile payments systems, innovation and adaptability is the name of the game to remain competitive and retain customers. To discuss these developments and more, the 2nd Future of Banking and Payments Africa Digi-Conference will bring together senior decision makers from central banks, leading the banking and financial services sector in the Africa region, to discuss the fast-changing landscape of financial services in the region and how latest innovation and technology can help them compete and keep pace with the revolution.
