5 Tips to Buy an Inverter at an Affordable Price Range

Are you going to replace your present inverter with a new one? Regardless of the cause, it is important to know which inverter is best for you. Your home's electricity needs may differ from those of your neighbors. Therefore, you must avoid installing the very same inverter (in terms of electrical power) in your home because there will be no benefits as such.

It is advisable to do some research and become familiar with the fundamentals before purchasing a new inverter for your house. This will also ensure a feasible inverter price!

Here are a few tips to keep in mind to ensure that you invest in a powerful inverter at an affordable inverter price:

1.       Gain an Understanding of the Power You Require

Your power need is among the most crucial things to know before purchasing an inverter. Simply said, make a list of the electrical devices (such as fans, tube lights, televisions, CFLs, etc.) that you will be using in the event of a power outage.

The power needed is calculated by adding the power used by all the electrical devices. For instance, let us say you want one television, three fans, three tube lights, and one CFL to run in the event of a power outage. You will have to add up the watt-wise power for each device and then land on an inverter that can run these all smoothly and efficiently with overloading.

2.       Look at Your Inverter’s VA Rating

The VA rating stands for volt-ampere rating. It is the current and the voltage that the inverter supplies to the machinery. The power used by electrical devices and the power provided by the inverter is equal if the inverter functions at 100% effectiveness.

But we all understand that perfect or ideal circumstances don't exist in reality. The efficiency range for most inverters is between 70% and 80%. The ratio of the power needed by the devices to the electricity provided by the inverter is known as the efficiency, or the power factor of an inverter. The majority of inverters have a power factor between 0.7 and 0.8. Moreover, the inverter price also differs accordingly.

3.       Be Aware of the Type of Battery Your Inverter Requires

The foundation of an inverter is its battery. An inverter's efficiency and lifespan are greatly influenced by the battery's capacity. The next question in line would be - how much backup will an inverter offer,  or "how long can it operate for so as to keep your required devices running.

The amount of backup time is determined by the battery performance and is called Ah or Ampere Hours. Batteries with capacities of 100 Ah, 180 Ah, etc., are easily available in the market. You can choose one that best aligns with your needs.

4.       Gauge the Necessity of Capacity

The total amount of power used should, under ideal circumstances, match the inverter's capability. Therefore, for domestic use, the power factor, which is determined by how effectively it is used, is generally 0.8. If you see that all the devices are running at once, this is the highest inverter load, and you can now comfortably choose it for your home.

Additionally, you must bear in mind that if you cannot gauge how many running devices you need during a power outage, then you should choose an inverter with a bigger capacity in this situation.

While you may be able to figure out your requirements for an inverter, It is equally important to choose a renowned and recognized brand, such as Luminous. Check out Luminous for a wide selection of high-performance inverters at reasonable inverter prices! Learn more about them here!
