Careers in finance

A career in finance is very lucrative. It is one of the highest paying industries for those that have recently graduated. However, work-life balance is almost non-existent in these high-paying roles, especially investment banking.

Salaries for investment banking (IB) range from $100,000 to $120,000 in base and another 50% to 100% of that as a year-end bonus for the analyst level (analyst level roles are for new graduates right after college). Investment banking involves working 

Entry-level roles in private equity (another lucrative industry) however, require a couple of years of experience and an MBA. Despite this, salaries in PE firms for associates (the most junior role), range from $160,000 to $300,000.

Interview prep for roles in finance is an absolute necessity. The playing field is incredibly competitive due to the high pay in these industries. Mastering financial modeling is another key skill to help land a role in the industry.
