Bristol & Bath Regional Capital is seeking an Investment Manager to oversee a new fund which aims to create positive and transformative change across the city of Bristol. This is a great opportunity for an individual to join BBRC at a time of exciting growth. You will be an experienced commercial investment manager, with a background of structuring debt and also part equity deals, who will relish the challenge of building a balanced portfolio of social and environmental investments which will have significant impact on the development of communities in the Bristol region. Bringing commercial investment experience and knowledge of investments in the housing, clean energy or social sectors you will be adaptable, be used to operating on your own initiative, and have the skills to be able to structure a broad range of commercially viable deals. To be successful, you will: - Have worked as an investment manager, ideally for a VC or PE firm, in SME lending for a financial institution or in the corporate finance team as an advisor. - Bring experience of structuring a broad range of early stage, pre-revenue and profitable investments. - Be able to create well thought-out investment opportunities with appropriate risk structuring and then present these to the investment committee. - Demonstrate that you understand the requirement, and have the commercial skills, to build a balanced portfolio of investments which benefit the City of Bristol. - Be used to developing both large and small-scale investment opportunities and balance a portfolio to deal with any potential loss-making investments. - Provide active portfolio management, building long term relationships with the funds customer, recognising any potential pinch points where additional funding, advice, or an exit strategy is required. - Be comfortable assessing investments on both a financial and social impact basis
