Growing up in New York City, Aryea Flohr was interested in capturing his surroundings before he even started school. As a teenager, he progressed into painting on canvas with acrylics and oils that were heavy enough to represent the textures of nature around him. After this experience at NYU College of Arts and Science, Flohr felt confident about pursuing art professionally as an artist for life.
