American rabbi and scholar, Aryeh Cohen works at the American Jewish University as a professor of Rabbinic Literature. Talmud, Jewish ethics, and social justice are some of the topics Rabbi Aryeh Cohen's scholarship focuses on. He obtained a BA in Philosophy and Jewish Thought from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Aryeh Cohen was ordained as a rabbi by the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies. Rabbi Aryeh Cohen obtained his Ph.D. from Brandeis University. Since 1995 Rabbi Aryeh Cohen has held appointments at American Jewish University. From 1995–2000 Rabbi Aryeh Cohen was Chair of Jewish Studies in the College of Arts and Science. From 2001 to 2005, he served as a Chair of Rabbinic Studies in the Ziegler School. Hebrew Union College/Jewish Institute of Religion, the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and at Brandeis University are some of the Universities where Rabbi Aryeh Cohen has also taught at. Rabbi Aryeh Cohen is also the Rabbi-in-Residence for Bend the Arc.
